- STYLE STARTED WITH CONFIDENCE -

an expression of confidence is not always accompanied by words, it is sometimes made visually apparent. before david bowie, or elton john, or more recent times, kanye west decided to bulldoze barriers in not only music, but the world of fashion, there was a confidence that lived inside of them that had to be shared visually before their tastes became social stimulating, trendy or ground-breaking.

style is not the object or tool or item. it's what YOU do with that "it", whatever "it" may be, that makes significant. it's not merely the notion of trying something new or doing what feels natural, it's a confidence that challenges societal norms that allows brands and industries to evolve. the problem with the success of styles (or for this site's purpose, 'brands') is they eventually become scared of how to sustain and reinvent that success.

good news; there is a solution to that. start where you initially started, harness that feeling of what differentiates your brand and use it again, and again, and again to the tune of an enhanced brand identity, or "style". be confident in your intuition and use it to your advantage.

looking for inspiration? open your mind and stop what you're doing. look around you. your surroundings, whether you pay attention to it or not, are relatable to something that you are naturally familiar with. huge ideas can spawn from the most unlikely of places.

when "work" popped the BIG QUESTION to wed "play", an amazing union was formed. an eternal bond of two necessities would go on to set an example of the cultural ideal in work/life balance and they lived happily-ever-after!

your work can provide for your play, but is the inverse possible without a crisis emerging? certainly, if you are fortunate enough to have reached a level of success where your play is also your work OR you can make your work process fun (or like "play').
